Bambi Saunders
Bambi Saunders has been involved in the dance industry for nearly 30 years. She received instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Tumbling, Cheer & Hip Hop with additional training in many other genres. She danced at The Dance Establishment along with The Dance Co. and C & C Dance Company under the direction of Kathy Shriber Carver. Bambi was a North Ogden Junior High Cheerleader and a member of the Weber High School Warriorettes, where she served as Drill Mistress. Bambi was awarded Dance Sterling Scholar. She had many opportunities for exceptional training with the drill team, taking master classes from Vincent Patterson, Wade Robson, Dan Karaty & Joe Tremaine, to name a few. Her Drill Team was trained by Bonnie Baker Story and Bambi received private instruction & choreography from Bonnie. After high school graduation, she was hired as the Assistant Coach for Bonneville High School Drill Team. She also began teaching dance for Utah’s Talent Academy, working side-by-side again with Kathy Carver. When Kathy Carver moved to Arkansas, Bambi began teaching for Spotlight Dance & Tumbling for nearly 10 years. During that time, Bambi’s dancers & teams received many top local & national awards.
When not teaching, Bambi was pursuing personal goals in the Miss America Pageant system. She had the great opportunity of representing North Ogden City as Miss Cherry Days 1998-99 and also at the Miss Utah Pageant. After passing down her crown, Bambi was in the Miss Weber County Pageant royalty and was awarded the Service Award. She served on numerous Pageant committees for the North Ogden pageant and was Co-Chair of the Miss Weber County Pageant. Bambi returned to Weber High School as the Head Coach of the Weber High Warriorettes from 2003-2006. In her second year coaching, the team qualified for the State Drill Team Competition for the first time in many years. At the State Drill Team Competition, the team received a 5th place in the Prop & Military categories. This same year the team went on to the USA Dance & Drill Nationals in Anaheim, California to receive a 1st place in the Large Open Dance Division, 2nd place in Prop & 3rd place in Military.
With the birth of her first child, she decided to leave coaching behind and became involved in Dance and Drill Judging. Bambi has been a certified judge with the Utah High School Activities Association for six years as well as a member of the Utah Dance Judges Association. She has also served on the Executive & General boards of the Utah Dance Judges Association. Bambi is thrilled to be teaching for Utah Dance Academy. She is the proud mother of four children, Rya, Ryker, Korver, and baby girl.
